Vintage Fender Telecasters
Here's a quick story about a vintage Fender Telecaster. After many years of playing Les Pauls and Strats on weekend gigs, I had the good fortune to purchase a
U.S. made American Series Telecaster. Some “expert” told me that I would not be able to get used to the Tele because I had been playing Strats and Les Pauls for such a long time. I shunned this advice, took the Tele along on my next gig, although I must admit that I had the Strat with me too, tried the Tele and never again did I use the Strat or the Les Paul. The point is that the Tele is a very nice guitar and it sounds great, especially in country music. There are many aspects to consider when qualifying a Fender Telecaster as vintage. Too many to mention here, but some true vintage Telecasters are commanding nearly 50 grand from collectors. If you have any, save them because it’s as good as having money in the bank. If you're missing a part, be sure to get an original part from an original vintage Telecaster to preserve the value of your instrument.
