The Taylor guitar company was formerly the Westland Music Company. These fine acoustic guitars have been manufactured in California since 1974. A man named Schemmer bought the company in 1983. Taylor was the first to use CNC technology in guitar manufacturing. This technology is a great labor saver. It allowed Taylor to build a less expensive guitar without relocating overseas. Seeing their success other companies have followed Taylor’s lead and have been able to maintain their U.S. locations. Taylor acoustic guitars are outstanding instruments.
