Rickenbacker Electric Guitars
The beginnings of Rickenbacker guitars started before the idea of the electric guitar was even born. Adolph Rickenbacker emigrated to the U.S. from Switzerland in 1918. He settled in Los Angeles, opened a tool and dye business and began to provide resonator cones and other metal parts to the National String Instrument Corp. Before long Rickenbacker and some of the technicians from National started to produce Electro guitars and Spanish guitars. They changed the brand name to Rickenbacker. The factory was relocated to Santa Ana, CA in 1962 where a wide variety of electric guitars are built, imported and distributed.
