The Martin guitar company was founded in 1833 which makes it one of the oldest guitar companies in the United States. They have been manufacturing guitars in Nazareth, Pennsylvania since 1839. Martin was one of the first companies to experiment with X bracing which has become a milestone in American acoustic guitar construction. Martin also experimented with body size, lamination, various headstocks and machine heads on their acoustic guitars with great success.
