Guitar Amplifier Covers & Cases Page
Do you really need a cover for your guitar amplifier? Remember that television commercial from many years ago? It was for a credit card and the pitch line was, “Don’t leave home without it.” Well it applies just as much to your guitar amplifier cover. Just the fact that you are going to “entertain” people with your guitar means that you will be transporting your amp out into the world. Always keep it covered. If you have a heavy amp such as a Fender Twin you will find yourself lifting it in and out of your trunk, car or truck. Cosmetic tears are virtually prevented with a cover yet commonplace without one. If you lay the amp down always have the knobs facing up for obvious reasons and don’t lay anything heavy on the amp to slide around and break knobs. I have found that after a gig—that worst part of the night when you are packing up, many times someone will ask if you need help. Take it! Although there is a downside to that. Many of these volunteers have had a few drinks and it's sort of a "test of strength" for them combined with feeling helpful. They don't realize the weight of these things or the sensitive parts and tend to bump and heave. The help is welcome, and with a cover for your guitar amplifier you don't have to worry about your helper banging up your amp, just droping it!
